The “Own Your Future” Long-Term Care Awareness campaign encourages residents to take an active role in planning ahead for their future long-term care needs. The State of Missouri partnered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to encourage citizens to start planning and preparing for their long-term care needs.

Illegal Provisions in Nursing Home Admission Agreements

Admission agreements frequently misstate the law in a way that is designed to disadvantage residents. Attorney, David Purcell Appointed to the Board of Governors of The American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys

National Senior Citizen's Law Center Nursing Home Report

The National Senior Citizens Law Center (NSCLC) will report on conclusions of a new study that found admission agreements for Missouri nursing homes can mislead residents and their family members at news conferences in St. Louis, Columbia and Kansas City Monday and Tuesday (December 17 and 18). Attorney Dave Purcell was involved in reviewing the nursing home contracts for this study.
