“Making a Difference With Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) and Exercise” Max Zubatsky, PHD, LMFT will present this important topic! As the rates of dementia diagnoses continue to rise in the United States, very few interventions have been developed to meet the needs of this population. This talk will highlight Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST), a novel group approach to improve memory and overall functioning in older adults with dementia. Information regarding the background of CST, steps of the CST group and caregiver involvement for CST will be covered.  The talk will also present a brief video on the experiences and successes of CST at a community hospital in Missouri.  Attendees will not only gain basic knowledge on how to incorporate a CST group in their practice site, but finding resources and referrals for someone looking for a CST group.
